In a Spred Newsletter, 1986, Sr. Mary Therese writes, "Ecclesial space used by Spred groups becomes a way, a threshold to the church for the group.  The group does not put high priority on books, obviously, but puts a high priority on the space.  The space is the educational environment.  The space becomes a kind of chrysalis of the sacred, where the members are initiated into a way of relating, a demeanor, a comportment, a way of being that will help them to pass from being on the "outside" of the sacred to being on the "inside", from being a stranger to being a member."
